Mr. James C. Johnson, 61 of Oak Grove Rd., Washington, Ga. entered into rest on Monday, March 2, 2020 at University Hospital, Augusta.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at 4 p.m. at Loco Baptist Church. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall beginning at 3 pm on Thursday until the hour of the service.

Mr. Johnson, son of the late Hal and Ethel Davis Johnson, was born on May 31, 1958 in Wilkes County. He had lived in Wilkes County all of his life, had been a log truck driver for several years and was a service technician for Wilhoit Gas for 23 years. Also, he was a member of Loco Baptist Church. His pastimes included taking care of his horses, dogs and rabbit hunting. An accomplished artist, his works amplified his love for the outdoors which included depictions of waterfowl, animals, and country landscapes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Alvin Johnson and brother, Jasper Johnson.

He is survived by his wife, Linda P. Johnson; son, Tracy Johnson (Sonya) of Washington; daughter-in-law, Crystal Rowe (Robbie) of Lincolnton; brothers, Ronnie Johnson (Annette) and Allen Johnson (Linda) all of Lincolnton; sister, Brenda Johnson of Washington; grandchildren, Shelby Rowe, Megan Rowe, Peyton Rowe,Hayley Johnson, Hannah Johnson, Hayden Johnson, Brooklyn Johnson, and Braxton Gowan.
