Dearing, GA – Mr. James Edward Broxton, 78, entered into rest September 26, 2018.

Mr. Broxton lived in Richmond County for many years and moved to McDuffie County 20 years ago. He was the son of the late Walter Anthony Broxton and the late Ora Belle Hardin Broxton. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force and worked as a civilian in Vietnam following the war. Mr. Broxton was employed by SE Iron Workers Local #709 for many years, and in his spare time he enjoyed welding and fabricating, watching old westerns, and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs. He was a Baptist by faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Randy Broxton.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Janice Morgan Broxton; son, Tracy Broxton; daughter, Jamie Broxton; and brother, Louie Broxton; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3 pm, Saturday, September 29, 2018 in the chapel of the Beggs Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 5 pm at the Brothersville Cemetery, Hephzibah, GA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
