James William Broome

Mr. James W. Broome, 47 of Guillebeau Rd. entered into rest Wednesday, October 2, 2013 on his farm in the Maxim Community in Lincoln County.

Mr. Broome, a native of Augusta, had lived in Lincoln County since he was a teenager and graduated from LCHS in 1984.   James was a mechanic, cattle farmer, and he and his mother baled hay for everyone all over Lincoln County.  He had been a member of the Martin's Crossroads Fire Dept for many years and was currently serving as Chief. He was an honest, hard working man that was devoted to his mother and his community.

He will be greatly missed by all that knew him, including his parents, John W. and  Peggy Hutto Broome, his black Labrador, "Lucky" and Chihuahua, "Gator".

Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 6pm-8pm at the funeral home.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 5 th at 2 o'clock p.m. at the Broome Farm, 1421 Maxim Rd. in Lincolnton with Rev. Ficklen Guin officiating.

Martin's Crossroads Volunteer Fire Dept. will be opened until Saturday evening for anyone that desires to bring food for the Broome family.
