James E Bolton Iii

James Elliott Bolton III, fondly known as "Jim," entered into eternal rest on August 14, 2023. Born on December 14, 1949, in Tampa, Florida, Jim was a beacon of light and a source of inspiration to his family, friends, and the community of Lincolnton, Georgia, where he spent his final years. Jim was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Deborah Jackson "Debby" Bolton. Together, they raised two beautiful daughters, Sara Anne Fann, married to Phillip of Stone Mountain, and Rebecca Lynne Gallman, wife of Jason from Auburn, Georgia. Jim was also a brother to Neil Bolton of Reno, NV, and Patricia Pingree of Las Vegas, NV. His joy was multiplied by the laughter and love of his grandchildren, Michael, Noah, Elisabeth, Mariam, Jonathan, Phillip Thomas, Stephen, Anneliese, Duncan, Aram, and Drake. He also shared a special bond with his Labrador, Lucy. A man of faith and intellect, Jim earned a Master's Degree in Church Music from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. His education laid the foundation for a life dedicated to serving the Lord, praising Jesus, and uplifting those around him through music. He was a true gentleman with a servant's heart, a trait that brought comfort to the sick and hope to those in need through his mission work. Before entering the ministry, Jim served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam Era. Over ten years, he achieved the rank of Captain and served as a navigator on B52 bombers and KC135 refueling aircraft. His service took him from basic training at Lackland AFB to stations in California, Maine, and Texas, instilling in him a deep sense of duty and patriotism. Following his service to his country, he served many churches throughout Georgia as minister of music including Lincolnton Baptist Church for the past 5 years. His life was marked not only by service but also by his passions. Jim was an ardent fan of the Atlanta Braves and found solace and strength in running, often covering up to six miles daily.

Jim was preceded in his journey to the Lord by his parents, James E. and Hazel Cloud Bolton, his son, Christopher James Bolton, and his granddaughter, Nasrin Fann. His memory, however, remains a source of strength and comfort to his family and all those whose lives he touched.

His life was a testament to the power of faith, the importance of service, and the beauty of music. He will be remembered as a man who lived his life in service to his country, his community, and his Lord. The funeral will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 3 pm at the Lincolnton Baptist Church. He will be laid to rest with military honors on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at 2 pm at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 2pm until 3pm prior to the service in the church sanctuary.

Beggs Funeral Home, Lincolnton is honored to serve the family of Mr. James E. "Jim" Bolton, III.
