James Wade Bazzell, Sr., 81, Augusta, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on October 18, 2022.
James was born in Guyton, Georgia on August 1, 1941, grew up in Rincon, Georgia, graduated from Effingham County High School, moved to the Augusta area in 1966 where he was stationed at Fort Gordon. He retired as a Sgt. First Class in 1987, after 25 years of serving his country, was known as a workaholic and worked as a Route Driver for Auto Zone until he passed. He enjoyed music, especially the Beach Boys, loved going to Savannah and seeing all the history there and especially enjoyed going to the River Street Sweets Candy Store and getting some of his favorite homemade "pecan log rolls" and just spending time with his family and friends.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Wade Bazzell and Addie Prince Bazzell and his son-in-law, Stewart Smith. His survivors include his devoted wife of 58 years, Rebecca Bazzell; his son James Bazzell, Jr.; his daughters Nina Smith and Tina Hammac (Walt); his grandchildren, Kristie James and Rebecca McChesney (Grant) and his great grandchildren, Makayla James, Cloud McChesney and Willow McChesney.
