James Rodney Arrington, 77, Thomson, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on July 26, 2024.
He was born in Washington, Georgia on August 25, 1946, and was a lifelong resident of Thomson, Georgia. Rodney served his Country in the U. S. Airforce. He was Christian by faith and a member of the Thomson Church of God. He was an expert career mason who owned and operated Arrington Masonry. He served many people in the CSRA and is well remembered for his skill. He enjoyed singing gospel music, riding horses, and frequent trips to the Great Smoky Mountains.
Rodney was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Arrington and Maudie Morgan Arrington; his wife, Brenda Kaye Arrington; daughter, Leslie; sister, Dianne; and brother, Neil Arrington. His survivors include his wife of 17 years, Beth Russell Arrington; sister, Judy Arrington Butts (Doug); sister-in-law, Anne Arrington; and his daughters Amy Brinkley Cosby (George) and Julie Brinkley Cort (Robert).
Pallbearers include Don Johnson, Terry Josey, Raymond Brinkley, Glenn Brinkley, Brayden Ross, and Jimmy Williams, Jr.
Visitation will be held at Thomson Church of God, 1354 Wrens Highway, Thomson, Georgia on Monday, July 29, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. The service will follow in the Church Sanctuary beginning at 2:00 p.m. and the interment following at Westview Cemetery, Thomson, Georgia.
