Born on May 23, 1960 to the late Alex and Jackie Poss Willingham. He grew up in Lincolnton, graduating from Lincoln County High School in 1978.
He was a salesman at Culpepper Ford for many years before transitioning to work as a surveyor engineer at SRS. His commitment and diligence saw him serve in this role for 20 years before retirement.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Fran T. Willingham, his children, Patrick Willingham, Savannah Seabolt (Drew), and the late Chandler Willingham. He also held a special place in his heart for his stepchildren, Jacob Harmon (Kimberly) and Jenna Aycock (J.L). His family was his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
In 2018, after 40 years in Augusta, Jimmy returned to his hometown of Lincolnton. He attended Journey Community Church in Evans and enjoyed his membership at Rocky Branch Golf Club. Jimmy's love for golf was well-known, often playing as many as four times a week. His passion for the game was only surpassed by his love for his family, especially his cherished grandchildren; Belle, Chloe, and Ava Willingham, and Lang and Millie Aycock.
Jimmy was also a beloved brother to Marsha W. Scott of Lincolnton and Tara W. Hester and her husband, Frank, of Lexington, SC. His sense of humor and loving nature extended beyond his immediate family, touching the lives of his siblings and their families.
Those who knew Jimmy will remember him as a man of laughter, love, and dedication. He had a knack for making people smile and was always the source of joy and comfort for his loved ones. His love for his family, his passion for golf, and his unwavering sense of humor will forever be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
