Jacquelin Capps Myers October 3, 1939 – November 23, 2023

Jackie Myers passed away peacefully on Thanksgiving morning, November 23, 2023 at her home in Covington, Ga. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Jack and Elizabeth Capps. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Liz Capps, brother, Steve, sister, Sandy and loving husband of 35 years, James W. Myers, Sr. They were very active in the Covington branch of the VFW. She is survived by her eight children, Sherry Manning, Mike Esarey, Tracy Holland, Rosalyn Myers, Janice Herdt, Pam Sigman (Bobby) Jimmy Myers (Cristy), and Frances Kight (Terry). She was a loving grandmother to 10 Grandchildren, and 14 Great-grandchildren. She was a loving aunt to numerous nieces and nephews, as well as several great-nieces and nephews. She lived in Covington for over 40 years. She was a long-time manager for Spencer's Gift Shop at Northlake Mall, followed by several years as a floor supervisor at Goody's clothing store in Conyers. Those who knew Jackie would best describe her as loving, creative and kind. Her warmth was infectious, and she had a knack for making everything she touched better. Family was everything to her. She had a gentle strength and a generous spirit, always ready to lend a hand or share a kind word. She also loved reading books, flowers, dogs, watching the Atlanta Braves and other sports on tv, and Tony Bennett. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Scot Ward Funeral Home, 699 American Legion Rd, Conyers, GA. There will be a visitation at 10:00 am. Service will begin at 11:00 am. Afterwards there will be a graveside service around 3 pm at Martin's Crossroads Congregational Holiness Church cemetery in Lincolnton, GA, where she will be laid to rest beside the love of her life, James (Jim) Myers.
