Jack Oakie Batten, 86, Warrenton, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on October 28, 2022.

Jack was born in Spencer, West Virginia on March 16, 1936, grew up in Canton, Ohio, and moved to the Warren County area in 1980.  He retired from the U.S. Army after 22 years of service. Jack enjoyed hard work, gardening, hunting, fishing and his alone time.

Jack was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Lorraine Mae Dauer Batten; his parents, Dewain Batten and Verna Helmick Batten Starcher; his step-father, Harold Starcher; and his sisters, Kathleen Rose Batten, Geraldine Batten Zaharias and Judy Carol Starcher Anderson.  His survivors include his son, Johnny Batten (Joy) of Lincolnton, Georgia; his daughter, Jennifer Belding (Ben) of Martinez, Georgia and his sister, Nancy Unkefer (Carl) and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
