Mr. J. Leland Tuttle, 83 of Forest Lane, Washington entered into rest on Wednesday, March 15, 2022 at Augusta University Hospital, Augusta.

Graveside services will be held on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at 2pm at Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery, Washington. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.

Mr. Tuttle, son of the late Forrest M. and Mary Hellams Tuttle was born in Wilkes County on September 5, 1938. He served in the US Army from 1962-1964 and was employed as a mechanic by Berry Logging for many years before his retirement. Afterwards, he worked for Andrews Quick Lube.

Known to most as a man of few words that savored a  Winston cigarette, he enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, Georgia Bulldogs, watching Westerns, and most of all his grandchildren.

Survivors include his daughter, Pam Verner (Jason) of Harlem, Kay Wolfe (Greg) of Philomath, Jimmie Hilton of Moncks Corner, SC; brothers, William Tuttle (Nell) of Alabama and Walter Tuttle of Washington; grandchildren, Jennifer Rogers (James), Taylor Verner (Will), Craig Wolfe, Keith Wolfe, and Gregory Wolfe; six great- grandchildren.
