MR. J.M. Holloway

Joe Miller (J.M.) Holloway, Jr., 4232 Double Branches Road, died Tuesday, Sept. 29th, 2009 at Savannah Heights, McCormick, SC. He was eighty-nine years old.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Goolsby Holloway, Daughters, Lynn Holloway Aycock and husband Alva; Leigh Holloway Aycock and husband Barney III
Grandchildren: Adam Aycock and Ashlyn, Hilary, and Jared Aycock. Great Grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann Reed and Andrew Aycock.
Sisters: L. G. Goolsby, Joanne Winn and Jeannette Moragne
Brothers: Henry Will Holloway, Lincolnton and Joel Holloway, Cleveland, GA
He was preceded in death by his sisters Maudine Holloway Tankersley and Easter Lillie Holloway Higginbotham, and a brother, Welcome Holloway.
Mr. Holloway, son of the late Joe and Lillian Burgess Holloway was a life long resident of the Double Branches community. During WWII, he served in the U S Army for 4 years in Central America. He was a retired truck driver and farmer. Mr Holloway a deacon emeritus of his beloved Double Branches Baptist Church was a dedicated member. Also, he was a member of the Lincoln County Cattlemens' Association.
The Funeral will be held Thurs, Oct. 1, at 11:00 AM at Double Branches Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
