Ina Drinkard Spratlin

Mrs. Spratlin was the daughter of the late Samuel Wesley and Reesie Burton Drinkard and a lifelong resident of Lincoln County. Beginning in 1976, she served as the secretary of the vocational department for the Lincoln County Board of Education and retired in 1989. Following her retirement she became the director of the Lincolnton Housing Authority. Mrs. Spratlin was also a member of Lincolnton Baptist Church. Preceded in death by her husband, Marcus Ward Spratlin, Sr. and daughter, Valarie Spratlin, she was the last surviving of nine children born to Samuel Wesley and Reesie Burton Drinkard. Surviving family members include a daughter Velda S. Aycock and husband Marion, a son Marcus Ward Spratlin, Jr. and wife Fran, and grandchildren Amberly Aycock Roberts and husband, Phil, Marcus Ward Spratlin, III and Caroline Drinkard Spratlin.
