Ida W. Scott

Miss Ida Ware Scott, 23, of 529 Goshen Street, Lincolnton, Georgia, died Monday, April 13, 2009, in Appling, Georgia. A beloved daughter and sister, a dear friend to many, and a great scholar, Miss Scott was a 2004 honor graduate of Lincoln County High School. Her popularity with her classmates earned her a spot on the Senior Homecoming Court, and her flair for fashion and design earned her the senior superlative of Best Sense of Style. However, her superlative of Best All-Around truly encapsulated Miss Scott. Known for her dramatic talent, her performances, both on and off the stage, possessed a depth rarely seen in someone so young. She possessed the best qualities of an artist, a model, and, most importantly, a scholar. Her love of learning and her love for children with special needs inspired her to earn a Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Georgia Southern University, graduating with honors in 2008. She used her many talents to help children with special needs reach their potential at Grovetown Middle School. Her dedication to her students, her love for her family, fiance, and friends, and her infectious laugh and dry wit will be sorely missed. She is survived by her parents, Fred and Bonnie Sue Holloway Scott, Lincolnton; her fiance, Justin Rickerson, Lincolnton; sister and brother-in-law, Audra S. and Lex Aycock, Lincolnton, and nieces, Ali and Lexi Aycock. Directions to Goshen Baptist Church, 1236 Goshen Church Rd: From Lincolnton go north on State Route 79 (Elberton Highway) at its intersection with U. S. 378 (Golden Pantry, 620 N Washington St, Lincolnton, GA located at this intersection.) Travel north approximately five miles then turn left on Goshen Church Road. There will be a large white two story house on the right at the turn, and the church is marked with a granite marker on the left side of the road.
