Hugh Alexander Helmly Maxeys, Georgia - Mr. Hugh Alexander Helmly entered into rest on December 4, 2012 at his residence. Graveside services will be held at Sunset Cemetery, Maxeys, Georgia, Friday, December 07, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Wayne Spangler officiating. Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Patricia Corban Helmly; five children; eleven grandchildren; two brothers and wives of South Carolina. Mr. Helmly was a retired U. S. Navy SeaBee. He was a retired instructor from Athens Technical College and former Mayor of Maxeys, Georgia. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Community Christmas in Oglethrope, 143 Bowen Farm Road, Crawford, Georgia 30630. Beggs Funeral Home, Thomson, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
