Henry "Ed" Edwin Henderson

Henry "Ed" Edwin Henderson, Sr., 84, Dearing, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on January 9, 2023.

Ed was born in Rochelle, Georgia on August 22, 1938, grew up in Abbeville, Georgia, but lived most of his life in Dearing, Georgia.  He was the Hatchery Manager at the Department of Natural Resources McDuffie Public Fishing Area in Dearing prior to his retirement.  Ed was a member of Thomson Presbyterian and Gideon's International.  He enjoyed working with his hands and propagation of fish.  He loved spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry Henderson and Hazel Hollingsworth Henderson and his brother, Joe Henderson.  Ed's survivors include his devoted wife of 64 years, Jo Ann Renew Henderson; his son, Henry "Eddie" Edwin Henderson, Jr. (Candy); his daughter, Karen Whitmire (Keith); his grandchildren, Tripp Henderson (Hannah), Ethan Henderson, Katelyn Thompson (Steven), Kasey McTier; his great grandchildren, Henley and Paisley; his brother, Charles Henderson and his sisters, Mary Rhodes (John) and Alice Bostic.

Visitation will be held at Beggs Funeral Home, 799 Cobbham Road, Thomson, Georgia on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m.  His Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel following visitation with his interment following at Westview Cemetery, Thomson, Georgia.  Please visit www.beggsfuneralhome.net to sign the family's personal guestbook.
