Helen Aletha Tyson

Helen Aletha Tyson, 75, Thomson, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on October 21, 2021.

Helen was born in Fitzsimons, Colorado, on June 27, 1946, lived all over as a child coming from a military family.  She has family from Thomson and Camak, her father a one time was stationed at Fort Gordon, Georgia and in 1989 she moved back to Augusta and Thomson area.  Helen was a registered nurse and worked all over the CSRA as a floor nurse, charge nurse, head nurse, and CPR Instructor and last worked as head nurse at the Columbia County Detention Center before retirement.  She loved crocheting, especially crocheting animals, baby dolls and hats for preemies.  Helen loved gardening, flowers and taking caring of plants.  She also loved dogs and exotic birds.  Helen was a devoted Christian, loved taking care of people, and especially loved spending time with friends, family and her grandchildren.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents Cassel Delbert Tyson and Anna Lou Harper Tyson; her son, Mark Grisco; and her brother, Terry Tyson.  Her survivors include her children, Keith Grisco (Lori) of Mathews, Alabama and Eric Grisco (Kathy) of Kirkland, Illinois; her brother, Walter Tyson (Joanne) of Nevada; her sister, Cecile Carpenter of Thomson; her grandchildren, Tynsley Grisco, Breelyn Grisco, Violet Grisco, and Evan Grisco; and nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 24, 2021, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Beggs Funeral Home with her Celebration of Life Service beginning at 3:00 p.m. following the visitation, with Rev.
