Helen Doyle

Mrs. Helen C. Doyle, 78, of Lincolnton, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Doctors Hospital in Augusta, Georgia.

Helen was born on May 10, 1948, in Augusta, Georgia, to the late William F. and Vivian Farmer Chassereau. She grew up in the Augusta area and graduated from Butler High School in 1966. After completing her education, she began working as a property clerk for civil service at Fort Gordon in the late 1960s, a position she held with dedication until her retirement in 1985. Following her retirement, she embraced her role as a full-time housewife and devoted herself to the care of her home and family. In 1989, Helen and her husband, Joseph, along with their family, moved from Martinez to the Double Branches Community of Lincoln County. She was known for her generosity and her willingness to help others, often going out of her way to lend a hand wherever it was needed. Her life was marked by quiet strength, a gentle heart, and a sincere concern for the well-being of those around her. Helen had many talents and enjoyed a wide range of creative pursuits. She loved cooking and baking cakes, and she became especially well known for her delicious red velvet cake. She also enjoyed sewing, crafting, and working with ceramics, finding joy in the beauty of handmade things.

A faithful member of New Work Baptist Church, Helen served her church and congregation with devotion for many years. She was church secretary for eight years, sang in the choir, and served on numerous committees. Her service to the church was a reflection of her deep faith and her commitment to supporting the work of her church family.

Helen was also a breast cancer survivor, and she faced that challenge with courage and grace. Her strength in the face of adversity inspired those who knew her and stood as a testament to her resilience.

She will be remembered most for the love she gave so freely to her family and friends. Helen was a kind and loving person whose presence brought comfort and joy to many. Her life was a beautiful example of faithfulness, humility, and compassion. Those who knew her will remember her laughter, her generosity, her talents in the kitchen and in the home, and the steady devotion she showed throughout her life. She is survived by her husband Joseph A. Doyle; sons; Tony Doyle and wife Holly of Evans, Tommy Doyle of Thomson and Timmy Doyle and wife Leslie of Lincolnton; daughter, Rebecca Lynn “Becky” Doyle; brother, William F. Chassereau, Jr. and wife Debbie of Grovetown; grandchildren, Katie Doyle, Adam Doyle, Connor Doyle, Dylan Doyle and Haylee Farley.

The family would like to thank Georgia Hospice and Inhabit Health for their compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
