Harris Edward Barden

Mr. Harris E. Barden, 81 of Augusta Hwy. entered into rest on Saturday, April 5th at GA War Veterans Home, Augusta. Mr. Barden, son of the late Luther L. and Georgia Powell Barden, was born in Columbia County. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict and retired heavy equipment operator. His brothers, Roy, Willem and Lee, preceded him in death. Survivors: Wife: Betty Jean Barden Step-son: Gene Sirman, North Wilkesboro, NC Step- daughters: Joyce Ann Gregory, Florida and Charlene Connolly, of Stockbridge Brothers: Pierce Barden and wife, Joyce of Washington Gene Barden, Lincolnton Sisters: Judy Sleister and husband, Richard of Grovetown Libby Jarvis and husband, Bill of North Augusta Sisters-in-law: Joanna Barden, Eliscl Barden and Hazel Barden Numerous nieces and nephews Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 8th at 2p.m. at Martin's Crossroads Congregational Holiness Church with Rev. James James officiating. His remains will be cremated following the service. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the funeral.
