Harlan "Sonny" George Ewest, Jr., 64, Dearing, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on August 20, 2024.

He was born at McConnell Air Force Base in Kansas City, Kansas, traveled with his family all over while his father was serving his Country, grew up in Thomson, Georgia, and has lived most of his adult life in McDuffie County.  Sonny worked in construction with Prather Construction, enjoyed fishing, spending time at his pond, hunting and his dog "Phoebe" and loved spending time with his family and friends.

Harlen was preceded in death by his parents, Harlan George Ewest, Sr. and Omie Hammett Ewest and his brother, Randy Johnson.  His survivors include his sons, Brad Ewest (Melissa), Brian Brabham (Lauren) and Jeffrey Brabham (Christy); his special friend, Donna Brabham; his brothers, Earl Johnson and Jimmy Ewest; his sister, Janie Ewest; his grandchildren, Nathen Brabham, Madysen Brabham, Kialey Brabham, Shelby Ewest, Gage Ewest and Jackson Ewest and his great grandchild, Elijah Fletcher.

There will be a gathering of remembrance on Saturday, August 24, 2024, 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Beggs Funeral Home, 799 Cobbham Road, Thomson, Georgia.  The family requests that you come as you are in your casual attire.  Please visit www.beggsfuneralhome.net to sign the family's personal guestbook.
