Guy Watson Bufford, Jr.

Mr. Guy W. Bufford, Jr., 83 of Dogwood Dr., Washington, Ga. entered into rest on Monday, September 5, 2022 at Wills Memorial Hospital, Washington.

Mr. Bufford was the youngest of 10 children born to the late Guy and Fannie Amason Bufford. Born on May 28, 1939 in Wilkes County, he grew up in the Delhi Community and attended Tignall School. His first job was at McCormick Mill and then he worked for 22 years as market manager at Meadows Foodland. He served as Chairman of Wilkes County Commissioners from 1980 until 1988 and then as an investigator for the Georgia Dept. of Agriculture for 15 years.

Survivors include his wife Jean Turmon Bufford; sons, Guy W. "Buddy" Bufford, III and wife Melanie, Kenneth Bufford and wife Sherree; grandchildren, Bryan Bufford and wife Danah, Kirk Bufford, Brett Bufford and wife Karen, Kayce B. Tyler and husband Eric, Kimi J. Bufford and husband Andrew; great- grandchildren, Atalie Bufford, Josey Bufford, Hudson Bufford, Mattie Grace Bufford, and Eli Tyler, and Emma Mixon.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at 11 am at Tabor Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 am in the church sanctuary.
