Mrs. Glenna Roper Willis, 73 of Hwy 220 West, Lincolnton entered into rest on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at piedmont Augusta.
Mrs. Willis, daughter of the late Frank and Myrtice Howard Roper was born in Wilkes county on March 7, 1949, grew up in the Aonia community and graduated from Washington Wilkes Comprehensive High School in 1967. Afterwards, she attended Augusta Technical College where she received a diploma in business. During that time, she served as pianist for the Happy Valley Quartet and met Aaron "Bo" Willis. They married in 1971 and soon thereafter moved to the Loco Community of Lincoln County where they raised their four children. For most of her career, she worked as a seamstress and later retired from FDB Manufacturing.
Her servant's heart and musical talent as a pianist was a blessing to Loco Baptist Church for 50 years and to Bethany United Methodist Church for 10 years.
Survivors include her daughters, Lori W. Standridge and husband Doug of Washington, Diana W. Paradise and husband Billy Jo of Lincolnton; sons, Bryon Willis of Statesboro and Kevin Willis and wife Marsha of Lincolnton; sister, Amelia Cordell of Bowman; grandchildren, Felisha Hilton, Jackson Paradise, Bo Standridge, and Nathaniel Willis; great- grandchildren, Braxton, Brynlee, and Oaklynn.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at 2pm at Loco Baptist Church with Rev. Marty Pinion officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6pm until 8pm at the funeral home.
