Thomson, GA- Mrs. Gisela Weber Newsome, 85, entered into rest May 11, 2014 at Thomson Health and Rehabilitation. She was the widow of the late Fred Newsome, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m.,Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lester Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephew, Clyde Newsome.
Mrs. Newsome was born in Frankfurt, Germany, but lived in Thomson, GA most of her life. She worked as a sales clerk with Belk's in Thomson for many years and retired as the lunchroom manager from Warren County High School. She was a Lutheran by faith.
Survivors include her sons, Roy Newsome and wife, Rose, Eddie Newsome and wife, Cathy, Billy Newsome and wife, Brenda, James Newsome and wife, Peggy; sisters in law, Betty McDonald and Louise Norris all of Thomson, Dorothy Akins of Mableton; brother, Gerhard Weber of Germany; grandchildren, Michael Newsome, Jason Newsome, Johnathan Newsome, Kenneth Newsome, Christopher Newsome, Christine Newsome and Angelic Newsome; great grandchildren, Gage Newsome and Emma Kate Newsome.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
Beggs Funeral Home, Thomson, GA is in charge of arrangements.
