Gilberto was born in Tamaulipas, Mexico on September 20, 1994, and grew up with his  family there.   He enjoyed life and loved spending time with his family and friends.  Gilberto was employed with  R A Dudley Nurseries, Inc., Thomson, GA.

Gilberto's survivors include his parents, Jose Genaro Guzman Acuna and Maria Del Refugio Acuna; his companion, Yajaira Josefina Lara Montalbo, his son, Alexsander Nicolas Guzman Lara, brothers, Macario and Jonathan and sisters, Yadira, Modesta, Liliana, and Jennifer, of Tamaulipas, Mexico.
