Mr. George Clifford Norris, Jr. was born in Warren County, Camak, Georgia on February 16, 1934 and went to his final resting place on January 20, 2021. He was the son of the late George C. Norris and Annie Louise Ansley Norris.
George was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Vera Eve. He is survived by his nephew, Larry McCord (Angela) of Clarks Hill, SC.
George served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. He was a talented musician who played the guitar, loved music and played in bands for as long as he was able. George loved Harley Davidson motorcycles and owned one in his younger years and enjoyed riding it. He was a man of few words and sometimes you would think he did not hear you when you said something to him, but he would always respond at his own pace. George had a very dry sense of humor and would tell the staff at Lake Crossing that if they did not leave him alone, he was going to call his Uncle "Chuck Norris". He loved watching birds, loved chocolate, loved his older sister, Vera Eve and loved his family and friends. If he had something on his mind, there was no changing it, as he was very independent and stubborn. George was a graduate of Warren County High School. He grew up in Camak, Georgia and was a member of Camak Baptist Church.
There will be a graveside service for the family and close friends this Saturday, January 23, 2021, 2:00 p.m. at Camak Methodist Church Cemetery, Camak, GA.
In lieu of flowers, it is the family's request that memorial contributions be made to any association or charity of your choice, particularly those pertaining to music.
Per CDC requirements, the family will be observing social distancing. Masks are required and appreciated. Due to the current national health concern, the family would appreciate your phone calls, cards, texts, and e-mails.
