The Celebration of Life Memorial Service has been rescheduled for Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Beggs Funeral Home Chapel, 799 Cobbham Road, Thomson, Georgia at 3:00 p.m.  with Rev. Daniel Adkins officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour before the service from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. at Beggs Funeral Home. Mr. Parker was born in Sparta, Georgia on January 8, 1941.  Mr. Parker worked in sales, owned a bait & tackle store in Raysville and retired from Regions Bank.  He was a christian and dearly loved his Lord and Savior and his family.  Gene loved riding horses, camping, and traveling.  He loved spending the summer in the mountains, socializing, never met a stranger and especially loved his family and friends.

Mr. Parker was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Opal Parker.  His survivors include his wife Betty Parker; his daughter, Amy Parker; his sister, Carole Lawton (Dave); and many family members whom he loved dearly.

Per the family's request, contributions in memory of Mr. Parker may be made to Raysville Baptist Church, 5264 Lincolnton Hwy, Thomson, GA  30824.
