Life Legacy

Mr. Smith, son of Fredrick Leroy Smith, Sr. and Sallie Carter Smith, was born on June 25, 1951 in Natchez, MS. He was a graduate of Mississippi State University and spent his working years as an electrical engineer at nuclear plants across the southeastern region. He was a deacon at Central Church of Christ and preached for a number of years at the Church of Christ in Lincolnton. He married the love of his life, Barbara Helen Muszar of Ocean Springs, MS on December 16, 1978 at the Chapel of Memories at Mississippi State University. He leaves behind a special legacy of remarkable compassion and loving children, even when they were not his own. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Helen Muszar Smith; his parents, Frederick Leroy and Sallie C. Smith, Sr. of Woodville, MS; daughters, Danielle Ramsey and husband, Mike of Hephzibah, and Cassie Jo Smith Saggus and husband, Mark of Lincolnton; sons, Jason Smith of Lincolnton and Matthew Smith and wife Arrie of Augusta; a brother, Edward Smith of Grenada, MS; sisters, Linda Bumpus and Carol Selman both of Atlanta; and grandchildren, Gracie Smith and Carter Saggus.
