Frank Milton Freeland, Jr.

p>Mr. Frank Milton Freeland, Jr. 81 entered into rest on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at the residence of his daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Charles Shelton.

Mr. Freeland, son of the late Frank M. Sr. and Ida Amanda Quarles Freeland was born on June 11, 1941 in the Double Branches Community of Lincoln County. He grew up there and had lived in Rayle most of his adult life. Throughout his career in residential construction, he had worked with numerous contractors and later owned and operated Freeland Home Builders.  This included hands on electrical, plumbing, carpentry, roofing and masonry work. His hobbies included work, work and more work! In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Frank M. Freeland, III and siblings, Charles D. Dill, Oliver Dill, Doris Blackburn, Georgia Goldman and Minnie Clark.

Survivors include his daughter, Michelle Shelton and husband Charles of Washington; sisters, Jean Brown of Lincolnton, Mae Lumpkin of California, Gloria Freeland of Kentucky; grandchildren, Triston Shelton and Hunter Guay; his daughter's mother, Catherine Freeland and a host of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 1pm at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with Revs. Manuel Bailey and Bruce Freeland officiating.
