Frances Jeanette Tuten

Frances Jeanette Tuten, known to all as Frances, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2023, in Columbia County, Georgia. Daughter of the late John O. and Jeanette Tappley Hobbs, she was born on October 18, 1947, in Augusta, Georgia. Frances was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was married to her loving husband, Grover F. Tuten for 59 wonderful years, and together they nurtured a  loving family. Their son, Fred O. Tuten (Ronda) along with their daughters, Beth Veal (Kevin), Shannon Williford (Billy) and Jennifer Kelly (Sean) brought immeasurable joy and pride into Frances's life.  She was a doting grandmother to seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, who brought a spark to her eye and a smile to her face. Her children and grandchildren were her life and her greatest love. She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with them, creating memories that will be cherished for years to come. Frances was a member of Central Christian Church, where she found solace, companionship, and spiritual fulfillment. A woman of many passions, she loved the tranquility of fishing and the adventure of camping. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, and she cherished the peace and beauty of nature. Frances's heart was especially attached to her home at the lake and to her beloved rescue dog, Bentley. No services are planned.
