Frances Theresa Pitoniak Tull

Ms. Frances Theresa Tull, 86, Thomson, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 21, 2023,  in Asheville, North Carolina with her family at her bedside.

Frances was born in Staten Island, New York on October 16, 1936, grew up in Staten Island moved to McDuffie County in 1974 and made her home in Thomson where she raised her family.  She was an administrative assistant in the business and accounting area.  She worked for Uniroyal and Manufactured Housing-Po Folks and Best Quality Mobile Homes for Wiley Douglas and her last fifteen years of employment until the age of 82 was as a door greeter with Walmart in Thomson, Georgia.  As a child, Frances loved to read and was hardly found without a book in her hand, which carried through all the years of her life and was State Spelling Bee Champion several times. As a teen, she was very active in roller derby before it became popular, and loved both ice-skating and roller skating and was very active with her family.  Frances loved cooking, baking, and enjoyed making cookies with her grandchildren as gifts for others.  She was one of the first Girl Scout and Cadet Leaders in the Thomson, devoted much of her time to the community and children and taught others to participate in the community, especially working with the elderly by bring care packages, spending time with them and playing games with them.  Frances was a member of Thomson Presbyterian Church for many years.  She continued her desire to read, loved Elvis Gospel Music, loved her life in Thomson, loved spending time with her family and friends and especially loved her time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was the "Best" Mother, Grandmother, Friend and Hero anyone could ask for.

Ms. Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Gertrude and Frank S. Pitoniak; her sister, Jeane Fair; her son, Henry "Buddy" Gould and great grandson, Gage Holley. Her survivors include her children, Linda J. Jordan of North Carolina and Susan T. Fowler of Thomson, Georgia; her grandchildren, Melanie, Christopher, Heather, Julia Corrin, Naava, Raia, Franchesca, Pearl, Branden and Paige; and her great grandchildren, Jack, Alise, Brooklyn, Zaiden, Kason, Xylair, Nicolette, Zakk, Banks and Damien.

Her Graveside Celebration of Life Service will be held at Westview Cemetery, Thomson, Georgia on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at 12:30 p.m.  The service will be officiated by Dr. Leslie Holmes.  Please visit www.beggsfuneralhome.net to sign the family's personal guestbook.
