Mrs. Frances G. Mims, formerly of Metasville Road in Lincolnton, entered into rest on Saturday, April 30 th at the residence of her daughter in Evans.
Mrs. Mims, daughter of the late Joseph and Tanty Jones Godwin, was a native of Wilkes County. She graduated from the Grady Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse and retired from the Lincoln County Health Dept after 30 years of service. Following retirement, she offered her nursing skills to anyone in need and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
In addition, she was an active member of Anthony Chapel United Methodist Church and was always involved in preparation of meals for functions there. Also, she was a member of the Washington General Hospital Club.
Family members that preceded her in death include: her husband, William H. "Billy" Mims; daughter-in-law: Jennifer T. Mims, sisters, Gladys G. Drinkard, Martha Fouche, and brother, Joe Godwin.

Daughter: Beth M. Fazio and husband, John
Son: Paul J. Mims, Hochton, Ga
Cousin: Joseph Fouche
Caregiver: Yolanda Hicks
Grandchildren: Lindsay M. Fisher and husband, Wes; Delaney Andrews, and husband, Matt; Anna Beth Fazio, Whitney Fazio Jones, Hillary Fazio Thurmond, and Tyler Fazio
Great- grandchildren: Ward Fisher, Jenna Grace Andrews, Jackson Hartley, and Olivia Fazio
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 4 th at 11 am at Anthony Chapel United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Resthaven Cemetery, Washington.
The family will receive friends from 6pm until 8pm on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
