Floyd Lee Cook, 84, Thomson, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on February 16, 2025.

He was born in Ellisnore, Missouri on December 19, 1940, grew up in Ellisnore, Missouri and moved to the McDuffie County area in 1972, enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1960, served in Germany during the Vietnam War.  Floyd enjoyed farming, horseback riding, working outside and especially loved spending time with his family and friends.

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Cook and Jewel Watson.  His survivors include his devoted wife of 64 years, Betty Forkner Cook; his sons, Mark Cook (Kim) and Ronnie Cook (Terri); his daughter, Peggy Hayes (Nathan); his brother, Frank Cook, of Imperial, Missouri; his grandchildren, Becca Cook, Nicholas Hayes, Nichole Sparks and Krystle Perry and his great grandchildren, Mary Morgan Hayes, Luke Hayes, Garrett Sparks, Emma Sparks, Elizabeth Sparks, Brandon Perry and Hunter Cook and other extended family.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Beggs Funeral Home, 799 Cobbham Road, Thomson, Georgia.  His Graveside Service, being officiated by military chaplain, will be held at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens, 2235 Washington Road, Thomson, Georgia on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.  Please visit www.beggsfuneralhome.net to sign the family's personal guestbook.
