Mrs. Fannie Mae Murray Norman was born on November 17, 1939 in Lincolnton, Ga., the daughter of the late Alexander and Emma Murray. She departed this life on July 6, 2022 in Thomson, Ga.
She grew up in Lincolnton where she was baptized at an early age and went on to graduate at the Westside High School in 1958. She and her late husband, John Norman, Sr. of 56 years left Lincolnton when they were young and moved to New Jersey where she began a profession in nursing and her husband ran used car dealerships and auto repair shops for over 45 years. After retiring, they moved back to Thomson.
She lived life to the fullest by enjoying Bingo, shopping, dancing, and traveling to Atlantic City and other States to visit casinos. She loved her family and the time that she spent with them was valuable to her. She lived life to the fullest.
She leaves to cherish precious memories: her children, Joyce Norman of Passaic, NJ, Judy Norman of Evans, Janet Wynn (John) of Lincolnton, John Norman, Jr. (Theresa) of Smyrna, TN; sister, Myrtis Sims of West Orange, NJ; grandchildren, Jermaine Wilder, Anthony Larkin, Jonathan Norman, Johanna Norman, Jasmine Dancy, Jamar Norman and John Norman, III, and Janesha McCrary; 17 great- grandchildren; and 2 great- great grandchildren. Her deceased siblings include Susie Hogan, Minnie Simmons, Rose Murray, Ethelene Mickens, Uncle Am Hogan, Hermaine Johnson, Hercules Kennedy, Josephine Martin, Ruby Mae Martin, and Roger Martin.
A service will be held on Monday, July 11, 2022 at 1pm at Lower Tabernacle Baptist Church Cemetery.
