Everette E. Morris, Sr., 87, Augusta, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on September 24, 2023.

Mr. Morris was born in Thomson, GA to the late Fred Eugene Morris and Maggie Waller Morris. He graduated from Thomson High School in 1953 and studied at the University of Georgia, Augusta, GA campus. In 1975, after retirement from Savannah River Plant with 21 years of service, Everette and Taylor Ray co-owned Raja Stores and Camper Center in Thomson, GA until 1978. For 10 years, Everette owned and operated Morris Office Machines in Thomson, GA and then moved to Augusta where he worked with La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries.  He officially retired in 2018 from La-Z-Boy with 40 years of service.  While in Thomson, he served in the Georgia Army National Guard for twelve years and served as a past president for the Thomson Jaycees. Everette had a love for music and enjoyed playing his electric bass guitar.  In 1966, he formed a five-piece band called "Everette Morris and the Escorts Band" and remained in the music business for 48 years until his retirement in 2014.   Everette was a member of the First Baptist Church in Augusta, GA and served many years as a deacon; president of Cason Broker Bible Class; secretary/treasurer to Men on Mission; treasurer of the Sanctuary Choir; secretary to the Body of Deacons; director of Stewardship Campaign; a helper with the Young Musician Children's Choir program; and was a Habitat for Humanity volunteer.

His survivors include special friend Donna H. King of Augusta, GA; daughter, Joy M. Sizemore and husband, James; grandson, James Lucas Sizemore, all of Bishop, GA; son, Everette E. "Gene" Morris, Jr. and wife, Tonya; granddaughter, Jeri Lyn Morris Richards and husband, Will; great-granddaughters, Camden and Collins Richards, all of Thomson, GA.  Mr. Morris was preceded in death by his son, Michael Wayne Morris; three sisters, Gladys Irene Morris, Ina M. Holloway, and Emmie M. Hannah; brother, Charles A. Morris; and grandson, Jacob Parker Sizemore.

It was Everette's wish to have a private memorial service.
