Atlanta, Georgia- Ms. Evelyn Jean Bridges, 82, formerly of Thomson entered into rest August 11, 2016.

Ms. Bridges was born in Thomson, Georgia to the late D.R. Bridges and the late Susan Holzendorf Bridges. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelors degree in Education and taught in the DeKalb County school system before becoming a Parole Officer for Atlanta Juvenile Services. She later became a Federal Parole Officer for the U.S. Federal Court in Atlanta. Survivors include her brother, Jim Bridges of Charlotte, NC; a nephew, Jimmy R. Bridges, Jr. (Sarah) of Atlanta, GA; and a niece, Dottie Bridges Koster of Charlotte, NC.

Graveside services will be held at 11 o'clock a.m., Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens with Rev. David Lambert officiating.

Beggs Funeral Home, Thomson, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
