Eugenia Tankersley Bufford

Appling, Georgia- Mrs. Eugenia Tankersley Bufford, 82, entered into rest June 22, 2017 at her residence.

Mrs. Bufford was born in Winfield, Georgia to the late Edward Allen Tankersley and the late Viola B. Tankersley Dozier.  She was a retired secretary from Thomson High School and jailer at Wilkes County Sheriff's Department.  Mrs. Bufford was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Richard R. Jones and W.A. (Shorty) Bufford; sister, Linda T. Jordan; brother, C. Allen Tankersley, Sr.; grandson, Tony Jones; granddaughter, Crystal Jones; and great grandson Axel Jones.

Survivors include daughters; Laura Wartella (John) of Brazoria, TX, Hattie Bullard of Grovetown, GA, and Marie Harrell (Rick) of Appling, GA; son, Ricky Jones (Tina) of Appling, GA; brother, Larry M. Tankersley of Appling, GA; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren; one great great grandson; and many nieces and nephews. Many thanks to Angel and Jamie for being her caretakers.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Monday, June 26, 2017 at Shiloh United Methodist Church in Winfield, GA with Rev. Kim Webb and Rev. Shirley Swarez officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

A time of visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service at Shiloh United Methodist Church.
