"Eugene" Lamar Daniel Street was born in 1931 to the late, Truman and Sally Street; he passed away on December 28, 2022, at home with family by his side. Born in Boneville, GA. He lived most of his life on the outskirts of Dearing, GA, where a large portion of his family had lived since the 1800s.
He is predeceased by four brothers (TW, Marion, Calvin, Robert) and six sisters (Sarah, Margie, Hazel Joyce, Dorothy, Barbara, Martha). He is survived by his loving wife, Savannah "Dixie" Street; his sons, Timothy Street (Rhonda) of Thomson, GA and Paul Allen Street (Patti) of Leesville, SC; four wonderful grandchildren, Christopher, Courtnie, Brooklyn, and Victoria and two great-grandsons, Wyatt and Sebastian. We, his family, will long to see him on resurrection day and welcome him back.
Eugene was blessed with a very loving family. He married the love of his life, Dixie, on October 14, 1962, in Dearing, GA, at his parent's home. He and his wife nurtured two boys with love, patience, discipline, and humility. He knew the joy of hard work, the value of a good name, and the importance of caring for others.
He was a lifetime witness of Jehovah, attending the Dearing, and later the Thomson congregations in the area in which he lived. It is where he and his spiritual brothers and sisters spent their lifetimes getting to know and love one another. Without these friends, life would not have been as precious.
A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Thomson, Georgia on Sunday, January 1, 2023, at 2:00 p.m.
