Dearing, GA-Mr. Eugene Omer Hagan, 88, of Greene Rd. entered into rest September 2, 2017.

Mr. Hagan grew up in Illmo, Missouri and was the son of the late Omer Lindsay Hagan and the late Edna Margaret Held Hagan. Moving to McDuffie County, GA in 1955, Mr. Hagan made his home in Dearing. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and during Vietnam and retired as a communications instructor with over 20 years of service. Mr. Hagan later worked with Purolator and retired from Pony Express. He was a Lutheran by faith and enjoyed fishing, hunting and farming. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved wife, Elsie Lee Hagan.

Survivors include his son, Darrel Hagan (Terry); daughters, Margie Hagan, Patricia Stephens (Tony), Janet Wells (Michael); brother, Robert Hagan; sister, Gussie Essner; 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.

Beggs Funeral Home, Thomson, GA is in charge of arrangements.
