Ethel Louise Henkel, 88, passed away in her sleep Sunday evening, March 21st, 2010, in McCormick, South Carolina. She was born in Cadiz, Ohio in 1921 and was a long-time resident of North Canton and Canton. She worked at the Hoover Company for many years prior to retiring to live near her daughter, Patricia Louise Henkel Fitch, in the Youngstown/Canfield area. 10+ years ago, they moved to SC and she gloried in the sun and warm weather. She was devoted to her many dogs, and is survived by Vanessa, her fifth poodle. In addition, she is survived by her daughter (above) and devoted son-in-law, Jack Fitch, her son Russell Lee Henkel and daughter-in-law Geri Elizabeth Henkel of Livonia, MI, her grandson Sean Eric Henkel, and two grandchildren: Eric Nolan Henkel and Jacob Ryan Henkel as well as her grandaughter-in-law, Laura Wright Henkel. They reside in Ada, MI. She is also survived by her sister, Betty Hennessy, 86. She was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Herbert Eugene Henkel, a life-long resident of the Canton area, in 1984. Additionally, she is survived by her extended family of brother's and sister's-in-law and many nieces and nephews and their children. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11:00a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home North Canton Chapel, 801 Pittsburg Ave. N.W. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park.
