Ernest Earl (Big Ern) Burleson, of SLV passed away on February 29, 2016, at Hospice House in Greenwood. Loving husband, father, grandfather and gr-grandfather.
Born 30 November 1932 in Price Hill, WV. He was the son of the late Earl and Janice (Bailey) Burleson He graduated from Northwestern University in 1964. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War.
Married to Barbara (Brandon) Burleson September 7, 1957 and celebrated 58 years together.
He retired from Twin Disc., Inc, Racine, WI in 1988. He was a member of Triluminar Lodge No. 767 in Illinois and received his Master Mason Pin for Fifty Years of Faithful Service and Membership. He was also a Noble at Hejaz Shrine Temple in Greenville, SC. He was a member of the McCormick United Methodist Church. He was a great volunteer and loved working with people who needed help.
He was preceded in death by his son Phillip David Burleson, three brothers and one sister.
He is survived by his wife Barbara and sons Steven (Karin) Burleson, Brookfield, WI., Kevin Burleson, McCormick, SC., three brothers and one sister and Maggie (his four legged buddy).
Granddaughters Stephanie (Eric) Mattos, Fairbanks, Alaska, Victoria (Jaymes) Black,
Green Bay, WI, Lindsey (David) Ray, Sussex, WI., Lauren (Dan) Dick, Carpentersville, IL.
Great-grandchildren, Alex, Jeremiah, Olivia Mattos and Aurora and Sadie Black.
There will be no services in McCormick.
