Eric "Shane" McCorkle, 53, Dearing, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on August 29, 2022.

Shane McCorkle was born in Augusta, Georgia on October 21, 1968, grew up and lived most of his life in McDuffie County, graduated from Briarwood Academy in 1987 and earned a degree at Augusta Technical College in HVAC.  He worked with McCorkle Nurseries many years and worked for Southern Geo Thermal, and Turner Transportation Services.  While truck driving cross country, he traveled in every state except Alaska and Hawaii.  He enjoyed fishing, darts, watching western reruns and loved spending time with his family and friends.

Shane is survived by his parents, Jack Harold McCorkle and Ruth Diane Turner McCorkle; his brother, Chris McCorkle (OB) of Warrenton, Georgia; nephew, Tad McCorkle (Rachel); Niece, Mia McCorkle; great nephew, Jack Foster McCorkle; best friends, Jim and Renee Wright and dedicated caregiver, Raya Carson.

Shane's graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Cemetery, Dearing, Georgia, being officiated by Rev. Logan Huff.  Please visit www.beggsfuneralhome.net to sign the family's personal guestbook.
