Elton "Shorty" Mcmichael

Mr. Elton "Shorty" McMichael, 79, of Moose Club Rd. entered into rest December 14, 2014 at Thomson Health & Rehabilitation.

Mr. McMichael was born in Harlem, GA but lived in McDuffie County most of his life. He was the son of the late Elton L. McMichael, Sr. and the late Nellie Jo Anderson McMichael. Mr. McMichael was a retired building contractor. He was a member of Washington Heights Baptist Church.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Frances Palmer McMichael; son, Tony McMichael and wife, Faye; daughter, Mary Ann Hall and husband, Bill; brothers, Paul McMichael, Olin McMichael; sisters, Mildred Welch, Betty Jo Evans, Linda Castleberry, Patsy Davis; grandchildren, Taylor McMichael, Tony McMichael, Shane Richards and wife Tamara, Allison Rowland and Gerry Hall; and great grandchildren, Tyler Rowland, Alayna Richards and Luke Richards.

Memorial services will be held at 11 o'clock a.m., Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Washington Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Palmer officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
