Ellen B. Hood, RN

Thomson, GA – Mrs. Ellen B. Hood, 74, entered into rest February 28, 2020 at her residence.

Mrs. Hood was a native of Richmond County, Georgia, before moving to Thomson, Georgia in 1999. The daughter of the late Fred Berry and Jewell Fields Berry.  Ellen was retired as a Registered Nurse from Augusta VA Medical Center with 38 years of service.  She dedicated her life to public service and was well loved across the country.  Mrs. Hood was a loving mother, grandmother.  After retiring, she enjoyed her final years doing what she wanted, fishing and relaxing.  Her husband, Eddie "Tolie" Hood of Louisville, Georgia, her parents, Fred and Jewell Berry of Augusta and her only sibling, a sister, Barbara Anne Cleveland, preceded Mrs. Hood in death.

Ellen leaves behind to cherish her memory a son, Steve C. Rabalais of Richmond County, Georgia; grandson, Cory S. Rabalais of Covington, Georgia; her dearest friend and companion, Aaron Newsome, Jr. of Louisville, Georgia.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, March 6, 2020, in Hillcrest Memorial Park with the Rev. Mike Sutphin officiating.

The family will receive friends from 11 until 12:30 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2020 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to the wounded warrior project.
