Elizabeth Ann "Lizzie" Waits

Mrs. Elizabeth Ann "Lizzie" Waits, 72 of Grier Circle, Thomson, Ga. entered into rest on Sunday, August 14, 2022 at Piedmont, Augusta.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 10 am at Bellevue Memorial Gardens, Grovetown. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6pm until 8pm at the funeral home.

Lizzie was born in Cottageville, SC on August 3, 1950 to the late Herman and Johnnie Marie Melcher Martin. She grew up in Augusta but had lived in Lincolnton and Elberton before settling in Thomson 12 years ago. Her interests included dancing and watching television. She attended Second Baptist Church, Thomson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, SGT James Edward Waits;  siblings, Henry Martin, June Martin, Lucille Timmerman and Ruby Johnson.

Survivors include her son Tommy Martin and wife Tina of Hephzibah; sister, Eloise M. Wilson of Harlem; granddaughters, Taylor Ivey and husband Brett and Tori Martin all of Hephzibah; great- granddaughter, Charlee Kate Ivey.
