Elizabeth, (Betty), Lee O'hara December 10, 1929 - July 17, 2024 (94 yrs. Old) Danburg, Ga. – Betty O'hara, departed us on July 17 th , 2024 in Piedmont Hospital, Augusta Ga of medical complications. Born Betty Lee O'hara, in Augusta, Ga, on December 10, 1929. Betty was married during the first part of her life to Carroll Smith, (deceased), raising four children. Donald O'hara, Cheryl McCain, (deceased), Richard and Douglas Smith. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Rosalie, brothers Charles, Jack and Jerry, sisters Ora Lou and Mary. Betty is survived by her three children and numerous grandchildren to include great and great-great grandchildren. Betty raised her children and tirelessly worked in her large family Poultry business with egg markets in Augusta, Ga. Eggs were processed and graded and delivered to numerous grocery store chains. Betty often modeled as a host in the Washington, Ga area tour of antebellum homes. Betty during the following years, was married to Anderson Standard, Sr. (deceased), and was noted to be a strong-willed business entrepreneur. She opened Morris Creek store and supply, a general country store selling groceries and general hardware supply. She was widely noted for cooking delicious burgers and preparing her signature thick cut white bread bologna sandwiches with mayo and mustard. She actively acquired land and rental properties which she enjoyed managing until her death. She showed care and love to her children being the consummate mother always inspiring and bring joy to them. Betty's hobbies were acquiring older cottages renovating, furbishing with antiques and creative decorations, to include her "Gone with the Wind" pond cottage.

She was also a loving kindhearted woman to her dogs through the years. Also, taking care of strays without homes. Betty at her death had a loving Border collie named "Baby". Betty's children and friends will so dearly miss her as she was a unique special woman! Betty will be interred in the Danburg Baptist Church cemetery on Sunday, July 21. A visitation will be at 2pm in the church and a funeral service with Catholic blessings will follow at 3PM. Beggs Funeral Home, Lincolnton, is honored to serve the family of  Elizabeth (Betty) Lee O'hara. .
