Thomson, Georgia- Mrs. Kathleen Bales, 73, entered into rest January 31, 2017 at University Hospital.

Mrs. Bales was a native of McDuffie County, Georgia and the daughter of the late John Frank Dye and the late Lou Estelle Whitehead. She was a homemaker and a Baptist by faith. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bales was predeceased by a son, Keith Bales and daughter, Sheila Hathcock.

Survivors include her husband, Bobby Lee Bales; daughters, Donna Wellmaker of Appling, GA, Elizabeth Gibson and Wendy Boone both of Thomson, GA, Anesia Ivie of Dearing, GA and Gina Miller of McBean, GA; sister, Rubye English of Augusta, GA; 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 3, 2017 in the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Land officiating. Interment will follow in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
