Mr. Eli Trivett, Jr. 83 of Earle Street, Thomson, GA died Friday, February 13, 2009 at Doctors Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary Ruth Tester Trivett.
Mr. Trivett was a native of Washington County, Tennessee but lived in McDuffie County most of his life. He was the son of the late Eli Trivett, Sr. and the late Bertha Brumit Trivett. Mr. Trivett served in the U.S. Navy Pacific Fleet during WW II and was retired as a textile worker from Kingsley Mill after 38 years of service. He served as a volunteer fireman for the McDuffie County Fire Department for over 30 years and served as former Chief of the Washington Heights Fire Department. Mr. Trivett was also a charter member of Washington Heights Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 16, 2009 at 2 o'clock p.m. at the Washington Heights Baptist Church with Revs. Sonny Peevy and Reginald Blakewood officiating. Interment will follow in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be members of the McDuffie County Fire Department.

Memorials may be made to the Washington Heights Baptist Church or the Realy for Life.
