Mrs. Eleanor Elizabeth Heaton, 73, Lincolnton, Georgia, entered into rest on January 19, 2024, with family at her side.

Eleanor was born in Augusta, Georgia and was the daughter of Lawrence Chavous (L.D.) and Beannie Chavous. She was a mill worker until her retirement who enjoyed crafts, the outdoors, cooking, her dogs, and prison ministry, and she especially loved spending time with her friends, family, and grandkids.  Eleanor was a faithful member of the Augusta 1st Seventh Day Adventist Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Chavous; brothers, Lawrence "Winky" Chavous, Sr., Aubrey Chavous, Marty Chavous and Britt Chavous. Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Kenneth Heaton; her mother, Beannie Chavous; her sister, Kathy Herrington; her daughters, Linda Susan Carter, Nancy Elaine Felton (Rick), Kay Bailey (Robert), and Kelley Elias (Greg); her sons, Ricky Heaton and John Horne; 18 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

The family has planned a Memorial Service for Sunday, January 28, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 4301 Wheeler Road, Augusta, Georgia 30907.
