Mrs. Eleanor "Ellie" Beeler Nicholson, age 82, entered into rest on September 24, 2022, at her residence.

Funeral service will be held at 11am on Thursday, October 6, 2022, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Washington, Georgia, with Father Mark White officiating at the Memorial Mass. Interment will follow at Greenwood Baptist Church Cemetery, Lincoln County at 3pm.

Mrs. Nicholson was the daughter of the late John Oliver Beeler and the late Natalie Costello Beeler.  She was born in Sewickley Heights, Pennsylvania.  As a young woman, she was employed at Pennsylvania Bell in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  She married Robin Franklin McGee in 1958 and she moved as a young bride to Lincoln County Georgia.  She was a homemaker and traveled throughout the United States with her husband, Robin and their young children, following his work in pipeline construction, until his death in 1983.  She then worked for a brief time at Fievet Pharmacy, and then was employed with Wilkes Telephone Company for 23 years until her retirement in 2009.

She married Bernard Nicholson in 1990, and they were married until his death in 2004.

Mrs. Nicholson was a devoted member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Washington.  She was also a member of St. Vincent DePaul and the Ladies Guild, as well as a member of Friends of Mary Willis Library.  She enjoyed her family, walking, working in her yard, reading and painting.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robin F. McGee of 25 years, her husband, Bernard Nicholson of 14 years, and her brother, John Edward Beeler of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Her survivors, who shared that she was a wonderful mother and "Nanny", include her beloved sons; James Terrell "Terry" McGee and wife Carol of Cumming, GA, John Robert "Jack" McGee and wife Tamara of Lake Park, GA, beloved daughter; Tracy M. Holder and husband Doug of Washington, GA, her six grandchildren; Kimberly and Will Bentley of Tignall, GA, Eli Holder and Kelli of Greenwood, SC, Taylor Ebert and husband William of Valdosta, GA, Emma Ebert and husband, Cody of Valdosta, GA, Sasha and Ian McGee of Cumming, GA, and five great grandchildren;  J.W., EllieDay and Gabriel Bentley, Cole Holder and Liam Ebert.  Her family says she occupied a special place in their hearts and was a constant figure in all of their lives.

The family requests that any memorials be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church 1013 North Bypass West Washington, GA 30673.
