Thomson, GA- Mr. Edward Lewis Bales, 77, of Reece Jones Rd. entered into rest May 20, 2014.
Mr. Bales was born in Sparta, GA and lived most of his life in McDuffie County. He was the son of the late C. M. Bales and the late Montine Bales Land. Mr. Bales was a retired truck driver from Superior Trucking and was the retired owner and operator of Craft Trucking. He was a member of the Oasis Church.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Daphne Marie Pullum Bales; daughters, Debra L. Bales (Devin), Cindy B. Luke (Rob), Julie Bales (Danny), Jessica Bales; sons, James "J J" Craft (Mary Beth), Eddie Graham (Missy); brothers, Bobby Lee Bales, Wayne Bales, Pete Bales, Hollis Land; sister, Patsy Layton; 13 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 23, 2014 at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lee Roberts and Charles Land officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Erica Spires, Brittany Gay, Tassie Hadden, Wendy Craft, Shannon James and Ashley Matherly.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m, Thursday, May 22, 2014 at the funeral home.
