Edward Allen "Al" Adams, 74, of Warrenton, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on December 9, 2024.
He was born in Washington, Georgia and lived in Thomson from 1964 until 1987. Al was a graduate of Thomson High School in 1968 where he was a member of the baseball team. After high school, he attended both Georgia Southern University and Augusta University. Al served his country in the National Guard and was employed as Logistics Manager at Georgia Pacific until 2010 when he retired and moved back to Thomson. He was Methodist by faith, a member of Thomson First Methodist Church, a member of the Exodus Sunday School Class, and sang in the chancel choir. He enjoyed music, playing guitar, golf, boating, muscle cars, and especially spending time with his family.
Al's love of life, friends, fellowship, God and his faith knew no bounds. He never met a stranger, and was always a ready friend with a joke, a hug, and a shoulder to lean on. Al was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Duval Adams and Barbara Dent Adams. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Pat Adams; his son, Michael Adams of Peachtree Corners, Georgia; his daughter, Jaime Dang (William) of Smyrna, Georgia; his brothers, Perry Duval "P.D" of Navarre, Florida and David Adams of Thomson, Georgia; his sister, Melody Adams Armstrong of Snellville, Georgia and grandchildren, Ansley and Annabelle Young.
His Graveside Service, being officiated by Dr. Steve Dodson and Rev. Bob Bowling, will be held at Savannah Memorial Gardens, 2235 Washington Road, Thomson, Georgia on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at 2:00p.m. The family will receive friends at the graveside following the service.
